Sample schools Programmes
For key stage two age groups areas covered include Ancient Egyptian,
Medieval, Tudor, Elizabethan and Stuart. Performances can be followed
by question and answer sessions, and workshops if required. Detailed
scenario sheets are available but the following brief descriptions
outline some recent projects.
Tudor Music And Dance
requires a minimum of three performers. The show is based around
a little scenario emphasising the difference between those of noble
status, a musician and school pupils. A Lord and Lady condescend
to show their skill in dancing and give instruction to the pupils
of their school. Master Mendoza talks about music and explains the
instruments he plays.
Duos, Drones and Divisions
An informal lecture recital designed as an introduction to Tudor
music., needs at least two performers to give a sense of variety.
It can be presented in character or not depending upon requirements.
To this we can add Sandy Lincoln as a dance teacher and third musician.
Master Mendoza
presents an illustrated talk with live music from the Middle Ages
or Tudor period. Flutes, shawms, recorders, harp, bagpipe, clavichord,
crumhorns, gemshom, rotte, pipe and tabor.
A Lecture Recital
featuring slides, recorded music and live performance. Michael Sargeant
describes early music in context.
Fees are subject to negotiation depending upon exact requirements
and travel
